After Xuanye (Laos) Co., Ltd. took control of Laos Lisheng Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd. in 2016, it signed High-quality Tobacco Leaf Development Cooperation Agreement with the provincial government of Fengshali, Laos for the tobacco planting and development project, and actively promoted the development and production of high-quality ecological tobacco leaf in Laos by adopting the mode of "company plus peasant household". The project has built seedling-raising base, baking plant and warehouse according to Chinese tobacco production standards in Bennuo County, Fengshali Province, Laos. The tobacco planting base has begun to take shape, which has helped nearly 1000 peasant households in poor mountainous areas in northern Laos to lift themselves out of poverty. Through large-scale production, more Lao farmers will gain benefits. It is expected to set a model and an example for international cooperation of "precise poverty alleviation" between China and Laos, create a new path for Laos’s tobacco exports to China, and realize the mutual benefit and win-win needs of China and Laos.
